Migrant Workers’ Ferry Difficulties
May Mar Aung

I’m a migrant worker coming from Aye Village, Bogale Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyarwady Region. And I’m working in a garment factory. I have to take a ferry from the dormitory to the factory and vice versa. Whenever I take the ferry, I am packed like sardines, and hanging like a man in the crowded ferry is my daily experience. It really disappoints me. Moreover, I find myself in a very tired and stressed condition in the workplace. Then I have to go back to the dormitory in such a crowded ferry. If possible, I want to be on a ferry comfortably. There will be plenty of workers who feel like me. So, I’d like to ask the owner to fulfill the workers’ need and it will lead to a fair workplace.
